Setting up your club or school is easy - simply click on “To register your club Click here" on the SportCheck home page and follow the simple instructions. Once your club or school has been created, you will be provided with a password you can use to log in. Once you've logged in, you can begin “Adding Managers & Coaches”. See below.
Depending on your club/school structure, it is more than likely the responsibility of sending messages out to members, players/students, or parents of players/students within a club/school won't just lie with one person as different messages will need to go to different divisions, grades, or even teams/classes. As a club/school gets more familiar with SportCheck's ability to channel messages, it will become necessary to add Mangers to Divisions and Grades as well as Managers & Coaches to Teams/Classes. A valuable feature of SportCheck is that you can add as many managers & coaches as you require.
Adding Managers and Coaches
If you are a manager or a coach and you have been texted your log on password you can go straight to the Club/Coach Sign in. For a more detailed explanation on this go to the PDF link.
Logging in as a Manager or a Coach
When sending messages from your phone, you simply enter the message into your phone like any other text message and then send it to 3080. (You may like to save the 3080 number into your contact list on your phone under SportCheck). If you are an administrator, division manager, grade manager, or a coach of multiple teams within the same club, when you send a message to 3080, it will be distributed to all those teams, but you can send a message to a specific team or even group of teams from your phone.
One feature that sets SportCheck apart from any other message delivery systems available today is its ability to channel messages to the exact group of people you want to communicate with. This avoids other message subscribers getting messages that do not affect them. You can send messages either from your mobile (see above) or if you prefer, you can send messages from the website. To learn more, click on the following link.
There are two easy ways for you to register your mobile to a team. One way is through the website - simply find your team either by typing the team name in the “Find a Club, Team or Event” box at the top right hand side of the SportCheck website or go to the home page and select your club by selecting from the drop-down menu: your Sport; Region & Club. When you find your team, enter your mobile number in the space provided (to the right of the team's message box) and hit GO. The other way to register your mobile is by texting your team code to 3080 from your mobile, it's that easy! Once you are registered, you will begin receiving important, last minute messages specific to that team. You can register with as many teams / events, clubs and schools as you want. (See the subheading “Finding your Team Code” if want more info on that topic).
Registering to a Team
If you are a club member, team player, parent of a player and you want to receive message updates to your mobile phone for a team or event then simply find your team either by typing the team name in the “Find a Club, Team or Event” box at the top right hand side of the SportCheck website or go to our home page and select your club by selecting from the dropdown menu: your Sport; Region & Club. This will take you through to your club page where you simply find your team and enter your mobile number in the space provided (to the right of the team's message box). You can register with as many teams / events and clubs as you want. For more info about this, click on the link below.
You can register your number with as many teams as you like. If you ever want to stop receiving messages from a particular team, there are a number of ways to do this. The easiest is when you receive a message just reply with the word “stop” to that message or you can text the word “stop” to 2334.
If you have forgotten your password click on the club coach sign in, then click on “forgot password”. You will be asked to enter your mobile number, then click on the submit button and a new password will be sent to your email address and your phone.
For privacy reasons, we don't collect names of registered mobile numbers. If you are a coach/manager for a division/grade/team and want to know what mobile numbers are registered in a team, you can do this by logging in to your page (using Club/Coach Sign-in). Click on Manage teams and in the subs column click on the number of subs. Click on the link below to find out more.
Finding your team Subs
Finding your team code is easy. This can be found on your club page; just to the right of your team's message box. (A simple way to find your team is by doing a search in the Search bar at the top). Team codes are handy for players and parents because you simply text your team code to 3080 from your mobile to get registered with that team. Coaches/Managers of more than one team can use team codes if they want to send a message to a specific team or teams from their mobile. (See the subheading “Sending Messages from Your Phone” for more on this).
Opting in to receive messages
The default setting for a club setup is for a Team/Grade focus so that the message page is displayed with teams within grades on your club message page. This works well for team orientated sports like Rugby, Soccer, League, Netball, etc. If your club has more of an event focus like Golf, Multi-sport, Cycling, etc., then you can change the focus so that events are displayed (in date order) on your message page To change your Club setup to an Event focus, tick the box and click OK. Note: If your club is setup with a Team/Grade focus you can still add events. These events can be accessed on your message page by clicking on “Events” located on the blue navigation bar. The same applies for Clubs that have an Event Focus; teams can be accessed by clicking on “Teams” on the blue navigation bar on the message page.
This is a simple function that is designed to help take your Club from one season to the next. This simple 2-part process allows you to disconnect all message subscribers from last season and advises them to register their number to their new team for the coming season. You can set the exact date and time for this message to be sent so that they get it just as the new season is about to start. You can also edit the message that goes out. Part 2 lets you delete any teams and or managers/coaches that will not be around for the new season.
While SportCheck was initially developed for Sporting clubs, with its great success, we have now introduced this amazing communication tool into schools. SportCheck works well across all activities within the school to include class communication, cultural activities and sports activities. There are currently a number of schools successfully using the SportCheck system, which has a great feature that allows administrators to link the school database with the SportCheck platform. Contact us (via our Contact Us page) if you would like SportCheck setup for your school.
Sportcheck"s amazing functionality also means Schools or Sporting clubs can import their School/Club member databases into the Sportcheck platform allowing them to create a strong communication platform instantly and with ease. This is particularly helpful with clubs that have online registrations and can ask members if they want to be subscribed to the text message service at the time of registration. For schools, this is useful for parents whose numbers are already in classroom groups. Contact us (via our Contact Us page) if you would like to import databases for your School or Club.
A Text Back Keyword means members or interested parties can simply text a specified keyword to 3080 and the last message you distributed or posted on SportCheck will be sent to them instantly. This is a great way to get weather updates, etc. to people who haven't subscribed to your team /group yet.
If you would like to add a "Text Back Keyword" to your team/group, simply contact SportCheck via the "Contact Us" page and give us the name of your Club, Division and Group/Team and the Keyword you would like used and we will set this up for you.
A "Subscribe Keyword" is a specified word set up for your team/group that your members can text in to 3080 to get subscribed to your team /group.
To set up a Subscribe Keyword, you can request one via our Contact Us page. Simply let us know your Club, Division and Group/Team and the Keyword you would like and we will set this up for you.
